Katie Petrikas

I work for a non-profit and have been creating online learning courses for the tree care industry since 2020. Some of my courses were created from printed manuals, safety standards, and content from subject matter experts, other courses were created from research that I did and content that I wrote (to meet required learning objectives).

 

I create interactive courses used by tree care companies across the country, large and small, to train their employees on a number of subjects, such as, electrical hazards, aerial rescue, chippers, climbing, and business administration. The courses are designed to be appropriate for the wide variety of education and reading levels found in the tree care industry.

When designing a course, I focus on consistency, functionality, accessibility, knowledge retention, and, of course, user experience. I get excited about organizing content and designing a learning experience out of it.

I really enjoy learning new things, creating processes, and project management.
